Rotations
Below provides a comprehensive overview of the various rotations that fellows will experience throughout their program. Each rotation is meticulously crafted to ensure that fellows gain valuable insights, hands-on experience, and a deep understanding of their field.
Clinical Rotations
- 2 weeks of orientation and education
- 18 weeks of inpatient consultant service
- With the option of splitting time between pediatrics and adult Hospice and Palliative Medicine
- 10 weeks of hospice rotation
- 4 weeks at a long-term care facility
- One half-day per week of ambulatory experience including:
- White matter clinic
- Perinatal palliative care consults
- Integrative sickle cell clinic
- Outpatient palliative care visits,
- Collaborative visits in Oncology, Neuro-oncology, Bone Marrow Transplant and telehealth encounters
- 2 weeks of anesthesia pain service
- 6 weeks of elective time which may include, but are not limited to:
- Ethics consultations
- Interventional pain management
- Pain outpatient clinic
- Zickler Family Prenatal Pediatrics Institute
- Complex Care inpatient or outpatient services
- Hematology-Oncology/Bone Marrow Transplant
- Neurology
- Genetics
- Inpatient/outpatient rotations with partnering adult Hospice and Palliative Medicine Programs
- 4 weeks protected time for research to be used to complete scholarly project and quality improvement project
Nonclinical Rotations
Rotations include 6 weeks of nonclinical time.
