The Volunteer Services Department manages Dr. Bear’s Closet, which is named after the Children’s National Hospital beloved mascot, Dr. Bear! Dr. Bear’s Closet includes donated toys, games, clothing and personal care items for patients and their families. Donating to Dr. Bear’s Closet is a great way to give back and make a lasting impact on a child’s visit to the hospital. Online Holiday Wish List
You can donate toys and games directly to Dr. Bear’s Closet through our online holiday wish list! Items will be directly shipped to the Volunteer Services office and utilized for the holiday season.
Mailing Donations
Brand new items can be shipped/mailed directly to the Volunteer Services office at the address below. If mailing your donation, please also print and complete our In-Kind Donation Form (PDF) to include with your donation and ship to:

Dropping Off Donations
Brand new items purchased with recommendations from our Holiday Wish List can either be dropped off via donation appointment or shipped/mailed directly to the Volunteer Services office at the address below.
Please complete our online Donor Interest Form for more information and guidance regarding scheduling a donation appointment or mailing donations to the hospital. Please note that the last date to schedule a drop-off appointment for the holiday season is December 23.

Monetary Donations to Dr. Bear’s Closet
Making a monetary donation to Dr. Bear’s Closet allows us to purchase highly requested items for patients and families as well as the programs we support.
