Children's Expert Visits Al Jazeera Show to Discuss Concussions
Gerard Gioia, PhD, Center for Neuroscience and Behavioral Medicine, joined Al Jazeera's The Stream to discuss the short and long term impact of concussions on athletes. Dr. Gioia said, "the brain takes such a violent movement back and forth that it's stretching and straining the tissue, releasing chemicals that affect the way the electricity in the brain works."
