The Pediatric Pain Medicine at Children's National Hospital provides comprehensive care to babies, infants and adolescents who have pain. We offer evaluation and treatment of your child's acute pain. Acute pain is pain caused by tissue damage. Medications alone often help decrease this type of pain. As your child's body heals, their pain will go away. We also offer evaluation and treatment for your child's chronic pain. Chronic pain is caused by a variety of factors; it is complex and does not go away with medications alone.
