Oncologists Push For Increased Education of Breast Cancer Risk to Wilms Tumor Survivors
A recent study found chest radiation to treat childhood Wilms tumor may increase breast cancer risk. Children's National oncologists Jennifer Dean, MD, and Jeffrey Dome, MD, PhD, wrote an editorial in the journal Cancer suggesting Wilms tumor survivors at high risk should undergo breast cancer surveillance and that more education is needed to ensure survivors and providers follow-through.
