May 2026 Pediatric Partner Update

Greetings from Dr. DiFazio
In a month full of celebrations for moms, teachers and graduates, I also want to highlight and thank all nurses, who dedicate so much of their time and energy to keeping our healthcare services running and our patients healthy. We celebrated our nursing care team at Children’s National with leadership rounding, puppy therapy, a video of gratitude from actors of “The Pitt” and more.
Our annual survey for referring providers is now available! Insights from you and your colleagues help us improve our service to all patients. Please also note the other resources for you on this page from specialty care for teens to toilet training for toddlers and many things in between.
Kids Are Our Everything.

Hantavirus Questions Answered
If your patient families ask about hantavirus, consider sharing advice from our experts on Rise and Shine. Written with parents in mind, our article educates them on what hantavirus is, how it spreads and how families can stay safe. It also reinforces the low risk of broad spread in the United States currently.

Care for Constipated Patients
If diet changes and over-the-counter therapies don’t relieve constipation, refer your patients to the Children’s National colorectal team. We offer advanced diagnostics to identify underlying causes and deliver targeted treatment options.

Free Delivery for Prescriptions
Our Specialty Pharmacy offers free delivery in D.C., Delaware, Maryland and Virginia for specialty and everyday medications for pediatric patients. The ACHC- and URAC-accredited pharmacy also offers onsite compounding and helps with prior authorizations and financial assistance.
Continuing Medical Education
Stay updated on pediatric care and enhance your practice through our Virtual Lunch and Learn webinars. All sessions, unless otherwise noted, are eligible for continuing medical education (CME) credit within 60 days of their presentation date.
