Dr. Macy is a pediatric emergency physician and health services researcher with interests in improving care delivery at the intersection of the emergency department, office and hospital. Her research focuses on primary injury prevention and healthcare decisions within the context of acute care. She is the principal investigator (PI) of an R01 project funded by the NICHD to test the efficacy of an ED-based mobile health intervention to promote size-appropriate child passenger safety behaviors with the goal of reducing preventable injuries and deaths from car crashes.
