Medical Dermatology Externship
The Division of Dermatology is an integrated subspecialty service that provides care to a diverse population of children, adolescents and young adults with a wide range of dermatological conditions. More than half of dermatology patients are Spanish speaking, with Children’s National Hospital being the only pediatric dermatology program for publicly insured youth in the DMV-area. Externs will gain experience in assessment and intervention strategies aimed at promoting adherence to medical regimens, managing symptoms and supporting psychosocial adjustment to chronic conditions.
