Curriculum
The Allergy/Immunology Fellowship consists of several educational experiences to ensure comprehensive education, including weekly participation in the NIH allergy/immunology fellows conference on Friday afternoons (1-4 p.m.) following Children’s National inpatient/outpatient rounds. Fellows also participate in division conferences every two weeks and hospital-wide fellows’ college.
- The NIH fellows conference: Journal clubs, basic immunology course, lectures by faculty at NIH, invited speakers, evidence-based practice, instruction in clinical trial design, workshops on mitigating healthcare disparities and more
- Inpatient rounds: Division-wide discussion of inpatient consults and case-specific teaching
- Division conference: Updates on clinical, administrative and educational opportunities across the division which includes journal clubs, case presentations and quality improvement objectives
- The Children’s National Fellows College addresses ACGME mandated educational content, including but not limited to professionalism, teaching skills, research, career building, leadership and life skills
