Children’s National names Nicholas "Nick" Mendyka executive vice president and chief financial officer

Children’s National has named Nicholas "Nick" Mendyka as executive vice president and chief financial officer. Mendyka brings deep healthcare finance experience and a strong track record of strategic, operational and financial leadership across complex health systems.

Mendyka joins Children’s National from Jefferson Health, where he served as executive vice president of enterprise financial operations. He previously held leadership roles at Allina Health and UVA Health, where he led financial planning, operational improvement and enterprise finance initiatives across large, dynamic organizations. 

At Children’s National, Mendyka will oversee the organization’s financial strategy and operations, helping ensure strong financial performance in support of its mission to improve the health of children through care, advocacy, research and education.

Mendyka earned a Master of Science in Health Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Bachelor of Arts in Health Communication from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
