April 20, 2017

WASHINGTON – Children’s National Health System was named to the 2017 Becker’s Hospital Review list of 100 Great Hospitals in America. This is the second consecutive year Children’s has been named to the list.

Featured hospitals are well known for quality, innovation and research, world-class patient care and a dedication to their local communities.

“We are honored to be recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review for the second year in a row and to be listed among such a prestigious group of peers from across the country," says Kurt Newman, M.D., President and Chief Executive Officer at Children’s National. "The recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our teams and the world class care we provide to our patients every single day."

The Becker’s editorial team selects hospitals like Children’s National based on their rankings and awards from other reputable sources including U.S. News & World Report, the Leapfrog Group and the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

One of the top seven pediatric hospitals in NIH funding, Children's National also is ranked in the top 20 in every specialty evaluated by U.S. News & World Report, one of only four hospitals in the nation to earn this distinction. Additionally, the health system has been named a Leapfrog Group Top Hospital for high-quality patient care and safety, and is a two-time recipient of the prestigious Magnet® designation, a recognition reserved only for hospitals that demonstrate the highest standards of nursing and patient care delivery.
