She earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing from Southern Connecticut State University and her Master of Science in nursing, with a concentration in healthcare administration and education, from the University of Phoenix.
ShellyAnn began her career with 10 years of bedside nursing experience in a Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). She has since spent almost 20 years in nursing leadership roles. Her leadership experience includes serving as nurse manager of a 40-bed NICU at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center at the University of Connecticut Health Center, clinical director of a 44-bed postpartum unit at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital in Virginia, and administrative manager at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, D.C.
Throughout her career, ShellyAnn has been committed to fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, enhancing communication, advancing patient- and family-centered care and improving the overall patient experience.

In 2020, Tim began his career at Children’s National Hospital as a bedside pediatric Hematology/Oncology RN. He transitioned to the Psychiatry Inpatient APU/CPU in July 2021 and advanced into a leadership role as a shift coordinator in September 2022. In September 2024, he assumed the role of behavioral health nurse navigator.
In this position, Tim prioritizes advocacy for patients, their families and the nursing team, utilizing education and effective communication as key tools. He is also a strong advocate for increasing mental health awareness within the hospital community and is dedicated to helping patients and families navigate complex healthcare systems with clarity and support.

- Megan Iaconelli, MSN, RN, CPN, CPHON, CNRN, is a registered nurse with over eight years of experience in pediatric nursing. She earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing from James Madison University and her Master of Science in nursing education from Walden University. Megan began her career as a pediatric bedside nurse at Inova Children’s Hospital before joining Children’s National in 2023 as a neuro-oncology nurse navigator. In this role, she supports children with brain tumors and their families by coordinating care and ensuring clear communication across the care team from diagnosis through treatment. Since 2025, Megan has also led the Neuro-Oncology Nursing Fellowship, a six-month program that provides specialized education to bedside nurses and helps build a network of skilled neuro-oncology resource nurses. Megan is committed to supporting families through challenging diagnoses, providing guidance, reassurance and a steady presence throughout their care journey. She strives to ensure that every family feels informed, supported and never alone.

- Peyton Lewallen, BSN, RN, joined Children’s National Hospital in 2025. She earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing from The University of Texas at Austin. Before joining Children’s National, Peyton worked as an inpatient neuroscience nurse, serving as both a team lead and nursing preceptor. She later broadened her experience in a neurology and rheumatology infusion center and specialty care clinic, where she contributed to practice growth and supported new physicians as they established their patient populations. In her current role as a central resource nurse navigator, Peyton provides comprehensive support to patients and families and helps coordinate care across inpatient and outpatient settings. She also enjoys mentoring new nurses through her work as a nurse resident mentor.

- Reshma Patidar, MSN, RN, CPN, has been a nurse at Children’s National Hospital for eight years and is a certified pediatric nurse. She received her Bachelor of Science in biology from Virginia Tech and her Master of Science in nursing from Johns Hopkins. She started her nursing career on the Surgical Care Unit as a new graduate nurse and then transitioned her way up into a leadership position as a shift coordinator. In 2024, she joined the Nurse Navigator team as one of the central nurse navigators. As a central nurse navigator, Reshma is involved in multiple committees throughout the organization. Reshma is passionate about patient advocacy, providing access to care and allowing space for parents, patients and families to be heard about their care to improve patient and family experience.
