- Khalid Khan, MD, is a pediatric gastroenterologist and medical director of the Islet Cell Transplant Program at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. In his dual roles, he provides medical care to both children with complex gastrointestinal diseases and disorders as well as adults and children undergoing islet cell transplant for chronic pancreatitis. Previously, Dr. Khan held similar positions with the University Medical Center in Tucson and the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis, where he also worked with both systems' pediatric hospitals.

- Carolina Rumbo, MD, is the medical director of the Pediatric Small Bowel program at MedStar Georgetown Transplant Institute. She has 24 years of experience in the fields of pediatric hepatology and bowel disease. She treats patients between birth and the age of 21 and her areas of special interest and expertise include short bowel syndrome, congenital bowel anomalies, fatty liver disease and more.

- Nada Yazigi, MD, is a pediatric gastroenterologist certified in transplant medicine. She treats patients ages infant through 21 with liver and intestinal disorders. Dr. Yazigi cares for patients before and after transplantation at The Transplant Center for Children at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. The ever-changing intellectual challenge of transplantation led Dr. Yazigi to the specialty. She embraces MedStar Georgetown's philosophy of treating the whole patient and focuses on including patients and their families in decision making about care. Her young patients' way of seeing the bright side of things and how they deal with their diseases inspires Dr. Yazigi.
