Scholarly activity is an integral component of the Neurodevelopmental Disabilities Training Program at Children’s National and a strong portion of NDD graduates have chosen to incorporate basic and clinical research into their careers. Fellows are supported in developing analytical, research and quality improvement skills that align with their clinical interests and career goals.

Opportunities include clinical research, quality improvement initiatives, educational scholarship and advocacy‑focused projects, with mentorship from faculty across neurodevelopmental pediatrics, neurology, psychology and related disciplines. Scholarly work is integrated longitudinally throughout training and is designed to foster critical thinking, inquiry and leadership in the field of neurodevelopmental disabilities.
