Pediatric Acute and Urgent Care Fellowship

The Children’s National Hospital Acute and Urgent Care Fellowship empowers board-certified and board-eligible pediatricians to become leaders in pediatric acute and urgent care. Fellows will enhance their clinical expertise and sharpen their business and leadership skills, helping to bolster their future in this dynamic field. Our program accepts two fellows each academic year.

The fellowship is designed for clinicians seeking additional clinical and procedural training in the fields of urgent or acute care before practicing in an academic or community setting. We aim to prepare outstanding clinicians and leaders in acute and urgent care medicine.

First APA-Accredited Acute and Urgent Care Fellowship in the Nation

The Acute and Urgent Care Fellowship at Children’s National is the first of its kind to be accredited by the Academic Pediatric Association (APA). This accreditation shows that our program is  being held to the highest standards of excellence for training pediatricians in acute and urgent care medicine.

This fellowship program is adaptable to individual career goals, while providing a comprehensive clinical and academic experience. Fellows work alongside physicians in urgent care.
