Children’s National launches new partnership with Loudoun United FC
Children’s National and Loudoun United FC today announced a multi-year partnership dedicated to supporting children and families across Northern Virginia and the greater Washington region through the power of soccer, health and community connection.
The partnership brings together two trusted organizations with a shared commitment to helping children thrive. Through family-focused events, community engagement opportunities and matchday experiences, Children’s National and Loudoun United FC will work together to connect with families and celebrate children, caregivers, healthcare professionals and the people that support them.
The two organizations will kick off their first activation on Saturday, July 18, when Children’s National will serve as the presenting sponsor of Loudoun United FC’s “I Love Summer” match against the Tampa Bay Rowdies at Segra Field in Leesburg, Va. Fans will enjoy special Children’s National-branded giveaways, pictures with Dr. Bear and one Children’s National patient will join the team for the ceremonial pre-game coin toss.
“At Children’s National, our responsibility to children extends far beyond the hospital walls. We are proud to partner with Loudoun United FC because soccer has an extraordinary ability to unite families, inspire young people and strengthen communities,” said Michelle Riley-Brown, MHA, FACHE, president and CEO of Children’s National. “Together, we will create memorable experiences that bring joy to children, promote wellness and deepen our connection to the families we serve throughout Northern Virginia and across the greater Washington region.”
Based in Leesburg, Loudoun United FC serves as a gathering place for families, young athletes, schools and organizations throughout Loudoun County and beyond.
"Loudoun United FC exists to serve as a beacon of impact, bringing people together and lifting up our community. Partnering with an incredible institution like Children’s National allows us to use the beautiful game as a vehicle for real, meaningful change,” said Karl Sharman, president and CEO of Loudoun United FC. “We are incredibly honored to celebrate these brave children, dedicated caregivers, and healthcare heroes at Segra Field, and we look forward to a multi-year journey of delivering joy and vital support to families across the DMV."
This partnership reflects the ongoing commitment of Children’s National to serving families throughout Northern Virginia. In addition to caring for children across Washington and Maryland, Children’s National provides pediatric specialty care in Northern Virginia including cardiology and neonatology services.
