When a patient is referred for a full cardiac evaluation, the pediatric cardiologist will have an echocardiogram performed, if indicated. This ensures the patient receives care from a variety of cardiac specialists to coordinate care. In special circumstances, a follow-up patient may receive an echocardiogram without a full office evaluation.
