Our Pulmonology Fellowship offers a comprehensive, hands-on training experience designed to prepare future leaders in pediatric pulmonary medicine. Fellows engage in a dynamic curriculum that integrates advanced clinical care, procedural training and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Training Curriculum

Fellows receive approximately 12 months of inpatient clinical training during the three-year program. The first year emphasizes clinical training, with a greater focus on research the second and third years.

    During the first year of the fellowship, fellows will divide their time between advanced clinical responsibilities, research, and pre-attending experiences, completing the following training components:

    • Research: 16-20 weeks 
    • Inpatient: 10-12 weeks
    • Consult: 10-12 weeks 
    • Continuity Clinics: 22-24
    • Subspecialty Clinics: 16

    Academic Curriculum

    Airway Biology Curriculum

    Foundational knowledge in airway development, inflammation and remodeling

    Core Clinical Topics

    Weekly sessions covering essential subjects in pediatric pulmonology

    Radiology Rounds

    Interdisciplinary case-based discussions with pediatric radiologists

    Journal Clubs

    Regular sessions focused on critical appraisal of recent research and literature

    Physiology Lecture Series

    In-depth exploration of respiratory physiology relevant to pediatric care

    Pulmonary Function Test Interpretation & Non-Invasive Ventilation Workshops

    Hands-on sessions focused on test performance and clinical application

    Departmental lectures with invited speakers highlighting emerging research and innovations

    Clinical Case Conferences

    Departmental review of complex case presentations and Morbidity & Mortality Conference

    Academic Teaching

    Fellows are also engaged in teaching medical students and pediatric residents, with support in developing effective teaching strategies and receiving feedback on their instructional skills
