Stacey T. Stokes, M.D., is an affiliate faculty member of the Child Health Advocacy Institute and a pediatric hospitalist. In her role, she focuses on global health, advocacy and quality improvement. While living in Europe for two years, and seeing how well structured and funded support for children and families lead to better quality of life and outcome measures, she completed her MPH with a focus on quality improvement and disaster management, while knowing she wanted to take her skills and apply them to pediatric advocacy once returning home to the United States.
After completing her MPH in 2019, she moved back to Washington, D.C., where she completed her residency training in 2011. The extension from education into project development has brought projects into focus such as an inpatient social determinants of health qualitative study, creation of sepsis tracking and output measures that improve patient outcomes, and overall expansion of education related to advocacy in immigrant and global health. Dr. Stokes looks to expand this local and hospital focus regionally and nationally over the next few years.
