Jared Hershenson, M.D., joined the Children's National Heart Institute in 2021 as the medical director of Cardiac Exercise Physiology and Cardiac Rehabilitation, and sees general cardiology patients in our Annapolis location.
Dr. Hershenson received his medical degree from Washington University in St. Louis, and did his Pediatrics residency at Johns Hopkins, followed by his Pediatric Cardiology fellowship at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. For the past 10 years, he has been a pediatric cardiologist in Northern Virginia and Montgomery County, where he was involved in fetal and outpatient cardiology and served as the medical director of the Exercise Testing Lab at his practice.
He has several publications from his fellowship and is an editor of CHIP Journal Watch for pediatric and fetal cardiology article reviews. He has been involved in collaborative research with hematology researchers evaluating exercise capacity in children with sickle cell anemia.
Dr. Hershenson is married with five children and lives in Montgomery County. In his limited free time, he is involved in many school and community religious institutions, and serves as a mentor for a program that matches college students interested in medicine with local professionals to provide guidance, teaching and support.
