Caitlin Sherman, CPNP-AC/PC, is a general surgery nurse practitioner with Children’s National and the Bariatric Surgery Program Coordinator. She helps coordinate pre-op, inpatient and post-operative care for bariatric surgery patients. She provides education and resources to help surgical candidates prepare for surgery, educates the bariatric surgery nursing team on comprehensive care of the bariatric patient and is a resource to patients post-surgery to help optimize success. She has worked at Children’s National since 2010 in many capacities, including as an ICU nurse and emergency department nurse, before stepping into her current role as a general surgery nurse practitioner in 2016. She earned her nursing degree at Georgetown University and her MSN at Catholic University. She served as a health volunteer in the US Peace Corps in Swaziland from 2004-2006 which inspired her to pursue a career in health.
