Brian Nguyen, M.D., is an attending transplant surgeon at Medstar Georgetown Transplant Institute and Children’s National Hospital. He completed his undergraduate education at University of California at Los Angeles. He attended medical school at St. Louis University School of Medicine. He did his residency in general surgery at University of Southern California, and came to Washington, D.C., for his fellowship training in multi-organ abdominal transplant and hepatobiliary and pancreas surgery at Medstar Georgetown Transplant Institute. He stayed on as faculty after completion of his fellowship. His clinical interests include adult and pediatric liver, kidney, pancreas and intestinal transplantation. Additionally, he performs non-transplant liver, pancreas and biliary surgeries utilizing minimally invasive, robotically-assisted approaches.
