Wei Li, Ph.D. is an assistant professor in the Center for Genetic Medicine Research, and a member of the Center for Cancer and Immunology Research at Children’s National Hospital. He is also an assistant professor of Genomics and Precision Medicine and Pediatrics at George Washington University. Dr. Li’s research focuses on both computation and biology. The lab uses the latest genome editing technology (including CRISPR/Cas9 and CRISPR/Cas9 screening) and computational algorithms to better understand how coding and non-coding elements function especially in human cancer and pediatric disease. He also collaborates with scientists around the world to identify novel molecular targets to inform precision medicine. He has pioneered work in developing algorithms for CRISPR screening and high-throughput RNA sequencing (RNA-seq).
