Emergency Medicine Referral Guidelines
Community emergency, urgent care and primary care providers can access our Emergency Department’s specialized intake nurses and refer patients 24 hours a day through our Emergency Communication and Information Center (ECIC) by calling Children's Lifeline at 202-476-5433 or 800-476-5433.
The ECIC can also arrange for rapid air or ground transport. The Division of Transport Medicine provides specially trained staff to arrive at the referring hospital or office to transport patients to Children’s National.
