Creative and Therapeutic Arts Services
Creative and Therapeutic Arts Services has provided artistic programming to patients, families and staff since 1978. A dedicated team of arts-in-healing professionals works to foster an atmosphere of cultural tolerance, promote wellness through self-expression, offer patients choice and variety and create an aesthetically pleasing environment.
Art Therapy is a mental health profession that uses the creative process of art making to improve and enhance the physical, mental and emotional well-being of individuals of all ages.
At Children’s National Hospital, clinically trained music therapists in Child Life and Integrative Care Services work to support the psychological and physical wellbeing of children, families and staff members through music therapy interventions.
Children’s National exhibits the artwork of students from the community in our galleries. Our focus is to encourage young people to give back through the arts.
Children's National has a wide variety of performers bring interactive events and activities to the Costco Wholesale Atrium and to the bedsides of patients throughout the year.
