Biography

Tara Seals, MSN, CPNP, is a PNCB board-certified pediatric nurse practitioner at Children’s National Hospital. She has worked as a pediatric registered nurse for 11 years working in public health, travel nursing and acute care. As a PNP, she has worked at the School Based Center at Ballou High School and has worked at Holy Cross Hospital with the Children’s Hospitalist Group providing care for newborns and pediatric ER admission. She currently provides care for the Adolescent Health Center and serves on the Healthy Generations Program and the CARES program. Her practice focuses on primary and consultative care for adolescents ages 12-21, male and female adolescents, teen mothers and their children and high-risk sexually active youth. She covers a wide range of health issues including general pediatric concerns, preventative care, menstrual cycle disorders and suppression, sexuality counseling, abstinence and contraception counseling, sexually transmitted infections, mental health and behavioral risk counseling. Tara is a founding and current member of the D.C. chapter of Nap Nap (Professional Association for Pediatric Nurse Practitioners) and is an Adjunct Clinical Professor at the Catholic University of America and Nurse Practitioner Preceptor at Children’s National Hospital.
