Biography

Tania Ahluwalia, M.D., FAAP, is the associate director of Global Health Programs, Division of Emergency Medicine and Trauma Services, at Children’s National Hospital. Dr. Ahluwalia is also an attending physician in the Division of Emergency Medicine and Trauma Services at Children’s National. She is actively strengthening the partnership with the Ronald Reagan Institute of Emergency Medicine at the George Washington University to build a more cohesive, robust global health program.

Dr. Ahluwalia's continuing clinical and research interests include global health and simulation. She earned a medical degree in 2012 from Medical University of the Americas. Prior to practicing medicine, she was a public health nurse in Ontario, Canada, after graduating from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Sciences in nursing. Dr. Ahluwalia completed pediatric residency training at the University of Illinois. She was then accepted into a pediatric emergency medicine fellowship at Children's Mercy Kansas City, where she focused on global health, medical education through simulation, qualitative research in pediatric trauma and quality improvement.
