Sarah Hornack, Ph.D., is a clinical psychologist in the Division of Psychology and Behavioral Health at Children's National Hospital.
She has expertise in pediatric psychology, which addresses psychological aspects of illness and the promotion of health behaviors. Utilizing cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), Dr. Hornack aims to improve outcomes and enhance quality of life for youth who are affected by both chronic illness and mental health issues, such as mood disorders, anxiety or executive functioning deficits.
Dr. Hornack is particularly interested in working with children and adolescents with problems related to eating and weight management disorders. Dr. Hornack also participates in the training of psychology predoctoral externs and interns. Her research interests include program evaluation and linkages between obesity and psychological functioning.
