Kathleen Atmore, Psy.D., has over 30 years of experience working with children and families in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She received her undergraduate and graduate education in Minnesota and completed her internship and fellowship training at Boston Children's Hospital Harvard Medical School. She was on staff and held a faculty appointment there prior to moving to Washington, DC. She joined Children's National Hospital, Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders in 2004, where she worked in the outpatient diagnostic clinic. In 2015 she joined Eileen Walters in the development of the Autism Behavioral Communication inpatient service for patients with autism who need assistance with both understanding and receiving their medical care. She is licensed in the District of Columbia and Maryland.
Atmore received the 2014 Patient and Family-Centered Care Award for her work advocating for patients with autism and their families who experience challenges to receiving appropriate resources and support in their communities.
