Katherine Worst, CPNP-AC, is a certified pediatric nurse practitioner specialized in acute care. After five years as a staff nurse at Children’s National Hospital, Katherine obtained her master's degree in 2013 and joined a team of providers servicing pediatric trauma, burn and general surgery patients. In 2017, she began independently running a Bowel Management Program at Children’s National for surgical patients who struggled with chronic constipation and incontinence following colorectal repair. Katherine fell in love with this patient population and became passionate about helping them to overcome challenges and improve their quality of life. In 2019, she was offered the opportunity to help develop the current Colorectal Program at Children’s National under the guidance of Marc Levitt, M.D. Katherine currently serves as one of the program's nurse practitioners and looks forward to the positive impact that this program will have for families worldwide.
