Iman R. Sami-Zakhari, M.D., earned a bachelor's degree from University of Khartoum in Khartoum, Sudan. She went to medical school at University of Khartoum and University of Liverpool, UK, for post-graduate training. Dr. Sami completed her residency at Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters and Eastern Virginia Medical School, Norfolk, VA. After her residency, she completed a pediatric pulmonary medicine fellowship at Children's National Hospital.
Dr. Sami is Clinical Associate Professor in Pediatrics at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences and the Director of the Pediatric Pulmonary Fellowship Program at Children’s National. She is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric pulmonology. She is particularly interested in asthma, cystic fibrosis, BPD and sleep, with specific research in the area of pulmonary function testing.
