Allison Mayhew, M.D., is originally from Ohio where she attended medical school at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. She then completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Emory University in Atlanta before moving to Washington, D.C for fellowship in Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology at the National Institutes of Health and Children's National Hospital.
Dr. Mayhew's clinical interests include both common and complex gynecologic concerns in girls and young women, specifically management of menstrual irregularities, congenital anomalies of the reproductive tract and pelvic masses.
She is a member of the Children's National Division of Colorectal & Pelvic Reconstruction and she is passionate about long-term care of female patients with anorectal malformations. She enjoys patient education and is a firm believer in shared decision making with patients and families.
