Alexis Leonard, M.D., is a graduate of Tufts University School of Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency and fellowship training in pediatric hematology/oncology at Children's National Hospital. In addition to her clinical care at Children's National, she is a member of Dr. John Tisdale's laboratory at the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institutes at the National Institutes of Health. Her research focuses on curative strategies for sickle cell disease including gene therapy.
