Children's Storybook Launch Event with His Highness Sheikh Abdullah

On November 2, 2016, Children’s National officially launched a children’s storybook, titled “A Very Special Place,” through a book-reading event at Tawam Hospital in Al Ain, UAE. His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, read the book aloud to a group of children currently undergoing treatment. After the event, His Highness met with a delegation from Children’s National, which included President and CEO, Kurt Newman, M.D. The idea for the book was inspired by the UAE’s Year of Reading initiative and long-standing friendship between Children’s National and the UAE.

Children’s National, “A Very Special Place”

The illustrated storybook, published in both Arabic and English, is about an Emirati boy who comes to Children’s National for a procedure and, through this experience, ultimately learns to be brave despite his fears.
