Research Education

This externship represents a unique opportunity for undergraduate, graduate and medical students to directly participate in clinical research projects, attend research, healthcare and clinical operations-related lectures, observe overall ED operations, interact with physicians, nurses and other healthcare personnel, and have the opportunity to create mentorship relationships with physicians.

Education and training are a key part of the mission of the Center for Genetic Medicine Research. At any point in time, the department hosts dozens of post-doctoral fellows, graduate students and short-term training fellowships.

Our training programs offer top notch medical education and experience complementing Children's commitment to excellence. Residents and Fellows participate in a rigorous curriculum providing many research, conference and learning opportunities.

The Sheikh Zayed Institute created the Joseph E. Robert, Jr. Fellowship as part of the historic $150 million gift from the government of Abu Dhabi that founded the Institute to help make pediatric surgery more precise, less invasive and pain free.
