Shopping program offers discounts at nearly 500 area retailers and restaurants and supports the BOV's Annual Grants Program at Children's National Medical Center
Washington, DC — The Board of Visitors at Children’s National Medical Center today announced the kickoff of its 7th Annual Care for Kids Card Program. The Care for Kids Card Program offers discounts at nearly 500 stores, restaurants and salons across the Washington, D.C. metro area. The Care for Kids Card Program supports the Board of Visitors’ Annual Grants Program at Children’s National Medical Center.
Care for Kids Cards can be purchased beginning today online at www.careforkidscard.com. Each $50 card provides a 20% discount during the 10-day shopping period, from October 22 – 31, 2010. 100% of the proceeds from each Care for Kids Card sold goes directly to support the Annual Grants Program at Children’s National.
Since its inception, the Board of Visitors’ Annual Grants Program has provided more than $4.5 million in grants to doctors and staff at Children’s National. These grants have contributed to research, patient life improvements, family support, medical equipment, and professional development.
“The Care for Kids Card is quickly becoming an institution of Washington life,” said Cheryl Weiner, Chair of the Care for Kids Card event. “Since we began in 2004, we have sold over 20,000 cards and are growing every year. With 100% of the proceeds from the cards directly benefiting the patients at Children’s National, the card is a win-win for everyone involved in the program.”
