On December 13, First Lady Mrs. Trump visited patients, families and staff members at Children's National to spread holiday cheer. Joined by Santa, Mrs. Claus and two patient escorts, the First Lady read a Christmas story, "Oliver The Ornament," authored by Todd Zimmermann, who also sat by her side during the reading. First Lady visits to Children's National are a tradition dating back to Bess Truman, who stopped by to see families who weren't able to spend their holidays at home.
