Emirates Diplomatic Academy Visits Sheikh Zayed Institute

Twenty-eight rising Emirati diplomats, among the first graduating class of the Emirates Diplomatic Academy (EDA) in Abu Dhabi, visited Children’s National in July 2016. The group was welcomed by hospital CEO Kurt Newman, M.D., and Medical Director of Global Services, Gerard Martin, M.D., and updated on the hospital’s latest health care innovations and research collaborations in the UAE. The EDA graduates toured the Sheikh Zayed Institute for Pediatric Surgical Innovation, the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders and the Washington Nationals Diabetes Care Complex, and also spent time visiting with patient families from the UAE.

Diplomacy in Action

The first graduating class of the Emirates Diplomatic Academy visited Children's National with Kurt Newman, M.D., and Gerard Martin, M.D. The future diplomats met with UAE partner organizations in the US to see UAE diplomatic programs firsthand.
