New Cardiology Nurse Navigator to Facilitate Care for Your Patients

Charles Fleming, B.S.N., R.N., C.P.N., steps into the role of nurse navigator at the Children's National Heart Institute, facilitating care for complex and urgent cardiology patients. As nurse navigator, Charles will coordinate referrals and provide comprehensive patient education to families while ensuring continuity of care. As the primary point of contact for referring providers, Charles can facilitate with obtaining documentation and images as necessary, and assist with clinical questions. Cardiology Access for Patients in Virginia

Access to pediatric cardiology has never been easier. In addition to Washington, D.C., and Maryland, Children's National cardiologists are located throughout Northern and Central Virginia for evaluations and treatment, including interventional electrophysiology. With offices in Arlington, Fairfax, Fredericksburg and Richmond, we're here to partner with you on your patient's care. Existing cardiology patients have the added benefit of self-scheduling through the patient portal, and soon self-scheduling will be extended to new patients as well. Learn more.

Infusion Center Now Available in Prince George's County

Children's National is pleased to offer infusion services at Children's National Prince George's County, bringing comprehensive care closer to home for our patients and families. The spacious location offers free parking and access to the same specialty services for Sickle Cell Disease, Gastroenterology and Rheumatology that are available at the main hospital. Transfusion services will be available in late spring.

Pulmonary Medicine Clinic Opening in Montgomery County

The Pulmonary Medicine Division has expanded, and welcomes Samuel Rosenberg, M.D. After serving Rockville and the surrounding counties for over 27 years at his private practice, Dr. Rosenberg has joined Children's National as a pulmonary medicine specialist. Dr. Rosenberg will see patients at Children's National Pulmonary Medicine Rockville, located 1.5 miles from Children's National Montgomery County.

Sports Medicine Clinic to Open in Silver Spring in March

Children's National is pleased to announce the opening of the region's first sports medicine center dedicated exclusively to the needs of young athletes. The Children's National Fight For Children Sports Medicine Center will open in March with initial access to sports medicine and orthopaedic trauma services and X-ray capabilities. Later in the year, the center will be fully operation with physical therapy and a gait lab for motion analysis.

Northern Virginia Magazine Names 95 Children's National Physicians "Top Doctors"

The annual "Top Doctors" list from Northern Virginia Magazine features 95 Children's National care providers across 27 specialties. Nominations are generated by peer survey and panels from eight local hospitals. Each panel nominated the doctors based on internal evaluations, patient reviews, patient access, training and quality of records. Congratulations to all of our colleagues and friends in Northern Virginia practices who have been recognized with this honor!
