The Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine Fellowship Program offers fellows multiple opportunities for research. Collaboration is available through the Children’s National Research Institute, Sheikh Zayed Institute for Pediatric Surgical Innovation, MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital Neuroscience Research Center and the National Institutes of Health. PRM Fellows participate in Children’s National Fellows’ College which provides education on research, teaching skills, scientific writing and career building and leadership.

Dedicated research time on average 7-8 days per month during the first year and 5-6 days per month during the second year of training is built into outpatient rotations. Each fellow is expected to complete at least one research project and one quality improvement (QI) project during the fellowship.
