Trailblazing Treatments for Complex Conditions

We aim to help kids with serious conditions live their fullest, best lives.

Throughout their treatment journey, we support their physical and emotional well-being, with care for the body, mind and spirit. Together, we'll pursue lifesaving breakthroughs that...

  • Transform cardiac surgery and neurological outcomes and speed development of a pediatric artificial heart
  • Empower cancer survivors with a multidisciplinary, best-of-its-kind clinical and research program to prevent and manage lifelong complications
  • Maximize use of targeted therapies for hard-to-treat childhood diseases using non-invasive ultrasound. This will offer new hope for patients with common and rare illnesses
  • Advance colorectal surgery and pelvic reconstruction through world-class care that integrates urology, gynecology and gastroenterology

Trailblazing treatments require sustained nursing excellence. We’ll accelerate our efforts to create the nursing workforce of the future — through training, mentorship and research.

Help More Children Thrive

Cancer

Childhood cancer treatments can lead to lifelong complications. Our research advances immunotherapy and less-invasive ways to destroy solid tumors. We’ll create a multidisciplinary clinical and research program to prevent and manage these complications. Cancer survivors will be able to live richer, fuller lives.

Cardiac Surgery

Under the direction of world-leading surgeons, our Heart Institute performs more than 600 lifesaving surgeries each year. With your support, we will speed development of a pediatric artificial heart. We’ll expand our Global Fontan Registry – the world’s premier data bank of children born with a single pumping heart chamber – and mine it for insights to care for a population that’s living longer.

Colorectal

Our new Division of Colorectal and Pelvic Reconstruction is led by the world’s most experienced surgeon in this specialty. We’ll advance care, integrating urology, gynecology and gastroenterology. These complex conditions can have devastating consequences for kids, keeping them from school, sports and time with friends.

Focused Ultrasound

Beams of high- and low-frequency ultrasound energy are promising weapons against illnesses such as epilepsy, brain tumors and movement disorders. With your support, we’ll accelerate research and launch clinical trials to drive breakthroughs. Our vision is to maximize this futuristic technology to cure disease and create new hope for infants, children and young adults.

Nephrology

Our Nephrology Program has grown into one of the nation’s best. We’re among the country’s most active kidney transplant centers. We are our region’s only Medicare-approved center for kidney transplants in children and teens and the only just-for-kids dialysis center.

Neurology and Neurosurgery

Our Center for Neuroscience and Behavioral Medicine is ranked #3 nationally. We care for children with disorders including autism, epilepsy, concussions and brain tumors. We’ll will advance treatments for babies whose conditions compromise their brain health, sometimes catastrophically. As we learn more about brain plasticity, we can create more pathways for kids with special conditions.
