Children’s National Health System on Nov. 17 signed an agreement with the U.S. Army to accept the transfer of 11.85 acres from the former Walter Reed medical campus in Washington, D.C. The property will allow Children's National to significantly expand its research. “We are grateful for the generosity and support of the U.S. Army that made this possible,” said Dr. Kurt Newman, president and CEO. “Just like us, Walter Reed is steeped in D.C. history and has a long legacy of research that’s benefited the region, the nation, and the world. We want to uphold that legacy.”
