Children’s Research Institute (CRI) comprises four research centers: cancer and immunology research; genetic medicine research; clinical and community research; and neuroscience and behavioral medicine research. Because CRI is located within the hospital, groundbreaking discoveries can be incorporated into patient care more quickly.

Children’s Hospital Foundation is the fundraising entity of our system. Each year, individuals and corporations give millions of dollars to Children’s through the foundation to keep our technology on the cutting edge and help us provide medical care to those children whose families don’t have the resources to pay.

Children’s National Health Network (CNHN) is our region’s largest dedicated pediatric provider network. CNHN brings together more than 280 community-based primary care pediatricians in Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia with the pediatric specialists and unique programs and services of Children’s.

Children’s Pediatricians & Associates, LLC (CP&A) establishes a “physician collective” through the affiliation, acquisition and management of pediatric practices. CP&A represents a pathway to economies of scale, practice contract management, consulting, group purchasing, and managed care support for community pediatric providers.

Children’s School Services In the 2001-2002 school year, the school health program was transferred from the DC Health and Hospitals Public Benefit Corporation to Children’s. The school health program is an integral component of the coordinated healthcare delivery system of Children’s and the DC HealthCare Alliance.

Safe Kids Worldwide is the first and only global organization dedicated solely to the prevention of unintentional childhood injury, which is the number one killer of children ages 14 and under. The campaign relies on the support of more than 450 state and local Safe Kids Worldwide Coalitions in 16 countries to reach out to local communities with prevention messages.
