Research Interests
Lauren Krivitzky, PhD is a pediatric neuropsychologist in the Division of Neuropsychology at Children’s National Medical Center and is an assistant professor in the Division of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. Dr. Krivitzky joined the staff at Children’s National in 2004. She earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Pennsylvania and her masters and doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology at the Medical College of Pennsylvania/Hahnemann University. After completing her internship at the Kennedy Krieger Institute/Johns Hopkins Hospital, she completed a fellowship in Pediatric Neuropsychology at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. Dr. Krivitzky has a strong interest in studying acquired brain injuries and provides consultation to the National Center for Children’s Rehabilitation, a joint effort between Children’s National and the National Rehabilitation Hospital. She is currently conducting a study examining functional imaging and diffusion tensor imaging in children with mild traumatic brain injuries (TBI). In addition to her interests in acquired brain injury, Dr. Krivitzky is involved in multi-disciplinary research with the Genetics and Metabolism program at Children’s National. Currently, she is the lead neuropsycholgist on a large multi-center NIH study examining neuropsychological outcomes in individuals with urea cycle disorders across the age span.
