Research Interests
Dr. Anthony's research efforts center on improving the functioning of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and their families.  She currently is the principal investigator on a National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) grant and two foundation grants to develop and test an intervention to improve flexibility, organization and goal-directed behavior of children with ASD (Unstuck and On Target! An Executive Function Curriculum to Improve Flexibility for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Brookes Publishing, 2011).  This project is pioneering the use of participatory methods in contextually-valid intervention development in ASD. Additionally, Dr. Anthony is the Co-Director of the Leadership Education for Neurodevelopmental Disorders (LEND) Autism Spectrum Disorders training program at Children’s National, funded by the Maternal and Child Health Bureau of the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).
