Research Interests
Kristy Brown, PhD works with many researchers in the proteomic facility at Children’s National Medical Center to help them understand biological processes at the protein level using mass spectrometry instruments. These are powerful universal detectors that allow identification and quantification of proteins in complex samples without amplification technologies.
With more than eight years experience in mass spectrometry instrumentation and analytical methodology development, Dr. Brown has acquired extensive expertise with the most modern mass spectrometry instruments and their application to proteomics. She works in a highly collaborative environment and facilitates research of many different diseases, including in depth work on muscular dystrophy.
