Research Interests
Heather Ann
Gordish-Dressman, PhD began her career in inorganic chemistry but soon
became interested in public health. She studied applied biostatistics
and epidemiology under the direction of Dr. Wendy Mack at the
University of Southern California, focusing on the effects of
transdermal estrogen on vascular function and lipids in postmenopausal
women. She also studied the Glycophorin A assay, investigating the
effects of environmental exposures during pregnancy on developing
fetuses, under the direction of Dr. William Bigbee at the University of
Pittsburgh in the emerging field of molecular
epidemiology.
Since joining Children’s National Medical Center, Dr. Gordish-Dressman
has applied her knowledge of statistics and bench science as the
primary statistician for research projects in the Center for Genetic
Medicine Research.
