Research Interests
Yi-Wen Chen, PhD, is an assistant professor at the Children’s National Medical Center and the George Washington University. She received her DVM at the National Taiwan University, Taiwan, and PhD of pathology/molecular genetics at the University of Missouri-Columbia. Her post-doctoral training in Dr. Eric Hoffman’s laboratory at the National Children’s Medical Center focused on molecular mechanisms of Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) and exercise-induced muscle adaptation using expression profiling. Currently, Dr. Chen's research involves dissecting molecular mechanisms of muscle hypertrophy, atrophy, and pathophysiology in muscle disorders including facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHD), (DMD), and juvenile dermatomyositis (JDM).
