Research Interests
Eleanor Mackey, PhD
is an attending psychologist working with the obesity team at
Children’s
National Medical Center who also conducts preliminary research in the
area of adolescent obesity. She has demonstrated her commitment to
research and the field of adolescent eating and weight control in her
record of independent and mentored research and publications in the
area of eating, weight control, and
pediatric psychology. Her goal is to
establish a strong research program aimed at developing prevention and
intervention programs for childhood and
adolescent obesity.
Dr. Mackey is trained in advanced statistical techniques, conducting
large-scale research projects, eating disorder
assessment, and neuropsychological assessment. She has a record of
successful collaborations with
multidisciplinary teams, both through research and in clinical settings
with nutritionists, cardiologists,
pediatricians, and endocrinologists.
