Who Can Participate?
Typically, families are recruited for AsthMaP® from Children's National Medical Center's Emergency Department or the IMPACT DC Asthma Follow-up Clinic.
In order to participate in study activities, children must:
- be between the ages of 6 and 20 years
- have been physician-diagnosed with asthma for at least one year
- reside in Washington, DC, Maryland, or Virginia
- be free of other significant respiratory or cardiovascular illnesses
To find out if your child is eligible to participate in AsthMaP, or for more information about the study, email AsthMaP@childrensnational.org or call 202-476-6149.
**Asthmap® is a research study investigating childhood asthma. Participation is voluntary, and completely confidential. The testing performed is not intended to provide treatment, however some of the test results are very useful for the participant's primary care physician. Test results are only released if the participant gives authorization.**
